The Let’s PLAY! project a design-initiated attempt to invite young people to engage and connect through play in their homes. We developed and designed digital platforms, that promote hands-on games and link the users through play. For this, we used accessible household objects and digital devices as connectors. The aim was to create social play experiences and spark new game ideas by playing with ordinary tools at home.
On the platforms, we present a game catalogue, with prompted play activities, needed tools and suggested rules. Through this, we provide a framework and direction to the play and aim to open up a new perspective about everyday home objects and spaces. We hope that instilling this view can also lead to a revaluation of the already existing environment.
